Yardstick is a collection of free calculators for home improvement and construction projects. Each one answers a practical question before you buy materials or call a contractor: how much concrete to order, what pitch your roof is, how many deck boards you need.
What we aim for
- Accurate maths. Every calculator shows the formula it uses, and the results are checked against worked examples.
- Imperial and metric. Every tool works in feet and inches or metres and centimetres.
- No sign-ups. Calculations run in your browser. We don't ask for your email to show a result.
Limits
Our calculators give estimates for planning and ordering. They don't replace a structural engineer, a licensed contractor or your local building code. Always check requirements with your local building department before you build.
